Anjeanette Corbeil

Social Worker

Welcome to the Hope Clinic, I look forward to meeting you. With 21 years of experience as a social worker, I understand that the helping relationship is intricately bound with genuine honour and ethical responsibility. Being invited into another’s story of hardship and uncertainty carries a profound obligation that holds a powerful opportunity for human connection and influence.

Learning becomes most meaningful when we dare to reflect upon our own stories. Guided by a narrative approach to counselling, I deeply believe that we all too often begin to identify ourselves by the problems we face. Together, we will locate the problem outside of self, nurture a new perspective, and pave a path towards your preferred identity, enhance your relationships and reveal new possibilities. I believe it is vital to work alongside a counsellor you can trust and can confide in, one who encourages you to recognize your own strengths and competencies and understands that you are the expert of your own story.

My practice experience includes working individually with adults, youth and children, couples and family counselling, facilitating therapy groups and leading interactive workshops. Areas of interest and experience include: Enhancing self-care, self-esteem and body image, emotional regulation, grief and loss, trauma recovery, relational accountability, violence and responding to the impact of abusive relationships, healthy relationships, healthy sexuality, sexual orientation and questioning, addictions, offending behaviours, self-harm, suicidal ideation, goal achievement, boundaries and limit setting.

I am honoured to have been chosen and trained to facilitate the World Famous FISH Philosophy Workshops to organizations across Canada. The FISH Philosophy embraces four simple and yet profound principles to support a fulfilling professional and personal life. BE THERE, PLAY, MAKE THEIR DAY and CHOOSE YOUR ATTITUDE. I often find myself overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude and admiration for the conversations I have shared with those who seek my support, I am continuously inspired by their courage, their insights, and their resiliency. Once again, I look forward to meeting you and working together towards wellness.

Warmly, Anjeanette
